- Our Focus Areas
How We
Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger works alongside communities worldwide to build food security and long-term resilience. Our approach is grounded in three interconnected focus areas: nutrition, education and economic empowerment.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — especially #2: Zero Hunger and #4: Quality Education — our programs reach communities where hunger is most severe. By prioritizing areas ranked “serious” or higher on the Global Hunger Index, we address immediate needs while helping communities build the tools, systems and stability to thrive.
By 2028, our goal is to support 16.9 million people through integrated nutrition, education and economic empowerment programs.
- Nutrition, Education, Economic Empowerment
Here’s how every dollar, volunteer hour and partnership helps advance food security across the globe:

NUTRITION
Meeting Immediate Needs With Nourishing Meals
When people experience hunger, it’s more difficult to learn, work and plan for the future. Through nutritious meals and support for local food systems, we help families and communities meet their most immediate needs while laying the foundation for long-term food security.

EDUCATION
Providing Meals to Keep Kids in the Classroom
Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to education. When children know a nutritious meal is waiting for them at school, studies show attendance improves, focus increases and learning takes root. Rise Against Hunger supports education programs that create stability, opportunity and hope for the next generation.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Equipping Families and Local Farmers to Thrive
Economic stability is essential to ending hunger. Through economic empowerment programs, we invest in farmers, entrepreneurs and local food systems so families can build reliable income and long-term resilience. These initiatives help communities move toward self-sufficiency by strengthening the local economy and reducing vulnerability to future shocks.

GROWING THE MOVEMENT
Momentum and Action for Ending Hunger
Rise Against Hunger recognizes that hunger will not end without creating a global movement. We engage hundreds of thousands of volunteers and advocates each year to build awareness and activation. Over the next several years, we want to engage over 2 million donors, fans and influencers to make a difference through our various opportunities, including meal packaging, virtual experiences, digital and social engagement, and more.
