“Feeding the Dream": Volunteers Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by Serving Others

on  January 22, 2019

From January 14 to 28, Rise Against Hunger locations across the U.S. are honoring one of the most influential leaders in U.S. history — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. With the help of thousands of volunteers, we will be able to package over 3 million Rise Against Hunger meals, which will be sent all around the globe, in remembrance of the Dr. King’s lifetime of service.Dr. King once said, “Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life? There is no deficit in human resources. The deficit is in human will.” This month, Rise Against Hunger is dedicated to answering Dr. King’s call and quite literally ‘feeding’ his dream of a world without hunger. We are grateful for the volunteers across the nation who spent their day off in service of others, and for all of the volunteers who are making a difference this month!
