Crisis Response Update: Critical Aid Distributed in Wake of Los Angeles County Wildfires

In early January, numerous wildfires erupted throughout Los Angeles County, reducing entire neighborhoods to ashes. The fires displaced hundreds of thousands of families, forcing them to abandon their homes, schools and communities to seek safety.

At Rise Against Hunger, our hearts remain with those impacted by these severe wildfires. As local firefighters and emergency responders have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to contain the fires throughout the area, this catastrophe has affected over 17,000 structures spanning over 45 acres and has tragically resulted in 29 fatalities. During times of crisis like this, emergency response efforts remain urgently needed. 

With the support of our local partners and our corporate partner at FedEx, who have been instrumental in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of donated supplies to Los Angeles County, we have been able to reach the lives of thousands of families. We’ve provided essential over-the-counter medications, hygiene kits, bottled water and rehydration supplies, bringing comfort and hope.
